Our flagship publication, The Southwark News, is London’s only independent, paid-for newspaper.
Launched in 1987, we are a dedicated, close-knit team, bringing you accurate and balanced journalism every week in print and every day online. We have continued to run every week throughout the pandemic, and upped our circulation to send out 500 free copies every week to shielded people, isolating in their homes.
We are based in Bermondsey, in the old Biscuit Factory. We are proud to be a London Living Wage employer. We pledged at the start of the lockdown that none of our team would be made redundant, and we have now brought back all of our team, to continue bringing you news, views and local stories.
We also publish the popular magazines, the Bermondsey Biscuit & Rotherhithe Docker – next out in October – and Urban Fox – next out in November, along with the weekly Greenwich & Lewisham Weekender.
